The Barn Room
500–1,200 sf

Unincorporated Weber County is unusually clear: a detached ADU must either match the main house, or be designed by a licensed architect in a barn, agricultural, or local-historic style.
That clause is why a new standalone building on a valley lot often looks like this. The barn room is not a kit shed. It is a new small building with a simple roof, a loft or high window, and a plan that works as a dwelling.
On valley lots and in the Ogden Valley, this type sits more honestly than a suburban cottage. We keep the silhouette quiet and the materials local: board-and-batten, metal roof, a modest amount of glass.
